2010 Crew

2010 Gibraltar - Lipari Islands

2010 Lefkada - Cephalonia
Two weeks aboard - Lefkada to Argostoli, with Malcolm, Rene', Thomas, Natalia, Lance & Adam.
We had an amazing voyage; it is the people who make the journey. What a crew, we will miss you all and think of you often.
We hope to join the crew again in the future, you are all part of our lives now. - Thanks for being you and making our time in Greece so special.

2010 Zakynthos - Milos
Our time with you on Freya has been so much more than you could have imagined. The Blue Caves at Zakynthos, spotting a Dolphin on our first sail and our quest for Turtles at Laganas. On to charming Katakolon with a trip to Olympia and then our unforgettable sail to the tiny Islands of Arpis and Stamfami. The crystal clear water, the Monastery, the spooky lights and birds followed by the breathtaking nightime sky. Then off to Pilos for the Castle expolring and the Greek dancers; Methoni with it's beautifully lit Castle before our night sail to the fascinating Diros Caves and Port Kayio. Then the day we'll remember with great fun as Thomas landed his first Tuna on the way to Monemvasia, Yummy! and with the Castle as a dinner backdrop - what a perfect day; and now our final stop in captivating Milos. We are so sad our time is up. Thank you for the great adventures, funfilled evenings of great storytelling (you really should write a book) and wine. You, Freya and her Crew will be in my prayers. Many thanks and love.

2010 Zakynthos - Milos
From the first email I recieved from you, I knew you were a genuine gem. So many skeptics thought otherwise, but this was the opportunity of a lifetime. I am sincerely grateful for this fabulous adventure. It definately exceeded all of my expectations. I can't find the words to describe my gratitude for your kindness, hospitality and friendship. Hopefully this isn't goodbye, but thanks for the best time of my life and I hope to see you again. If not, keep in touch. Please look me up if you are ever in the area.

2010 Monemvasia - Milos
Malcolm - I can't believe I was actually able to join you. I'v been lookin at Floatplan for well over a year, dreaming of one day being able to sail in the Greek Islands. The first time I emailed you there was probably a 1 in 100 chance of being able to meet you; the second time I emailed you there really wasn't much better of a chance. But - it worked out! and here I am! I've had a wonderful time on the sea with you and the Crew. I wasn't on long enough to learn much about sailing but it's restored my "itch" for sailing so, hopefully, when I return to New Orleans I'll have a chance to sail on weekends. So thanks for the experience, this has been a wonderful break after cycling and travelling for so long; but next time I'm bringing my bike so be prepared!!! (Skipper's note:Prior to joining Freya, this remarkable young man had cycled from the Atlantic coast of France to the Black Sea !!)

2010 Corfu to Kos
Malcolm the past two and a half months have been not just a great time and a lot of fun, but a great learning experience and a step forward for me in this crazy thing we call life! As you and the rest of the crew know how I like to have fun, most importantly to me on this trip was first and foremost the skills and knowledge I have obtained on Freya. As you obviously know I am carrying on what you and Thomas have taught me into my next job and hopefully career as I head back down to St John in USVI and work on a Cat in the next month. There are too many good memories to recite all of them, but the best times for myself on this trip would have to be whenever we would be under a good sail and talking to you and Thomas in the cockpit about sailing and what we should be doing to improve our direction and speed as well as helping in some serious sails. This has been a great experience for me and I am grateful to have been part of this crew and spending my time in this beautiful country for the summer. This journey for me is now over, but it has allowed me to realize and partake in my longer journey of pursuing my true enjoyment for sailing and the sea, that I know you share as well. Thanks again for all you have taught me and for allowing me to share your home for the past ten weeks. It has truly been a joy and pleasure that I will not forget. Take care and best of luck on your future sails, your friend, Adam W.

2010 Naxos to Kalymnos
Thank you Malcolm for the opportunity to sail on Freya - she's a great boat and you've done great job in outfitting her, she's surely going to give you many years of pleasure. Sailing the Greek Islands has been a great experience for us and we also learned a lot - it's always interesting to see how things differ in different parts of the world. So best of luck to you and your wonderful crew.

2010 Cokertme to Kalkan
I had a great time on Freya with the multi-national crew, it was wonderful meeting everyone and I learnt a lot of new tricks. Turkey was interesting and a bit different to expectations - the people were nice, the climate excellent, and the anchorages excellent. The water was clear but it is a pity that the Med is now so lifeless. I wish you a great lifetime trip. Thanks to you and the great crew for a very nice holiday.

2010 Marmaris to Kas
It's been a long time since we sailed in Thailand and Malaysia together and now you have fulfilled your dream with Freya! What a splendid boat she is. We had a great time sailing with you along the Lycian coast, unfortunately with little or no wind except for the last day in Kas. We wish you a good winter in Kos and many happy sailing seasons to come.
